how it all began

Victoria left New Zealand to explore the world and eventually found herself in Essaouira in 2022, where she met Mohammed. Mohammed was working as a surf and kitesurf instructor, while Victoria was teaching yoga — and the rest was history. Victoria not only fell in love with Morocco, but also the guy who spent more time in a wetsuit than normal clothes.
Combining their skills, they began working in tourism, offering yoga, surf and cooking class packages. Over time, this grew into what they offer today — a range of established activities, along with multi-day trips offering the 'real' Moroccan experience.
Mohammed comes from a close-knit family of six — his mother Najet, father Said, older brother Abdul, and younger brothers Yassine and Noredine. While Victoria and Mohammed continue to travel, the business is carried on by the family in Essaouira, who are involved in preparing and delivering your experience. This makes Essaouira Experiences a truly family-run project, giving you a genuine insight into local life in Morocco.
